What we offer
Complete data center decommissioning — start to finish
A data center decommission involves dozens of moving parts. Altech coordinates every phase — from the initial site walkthrough to the final disposition report — giving your team a single point of contact throughout.
Project planning & coordination
We work with your team to develop a detailed decommissioning plan — including timelines, logistics, data security protocols, and equipment disposition strategy.
Equipment removal & logistics
Our trained team handles the physical removal, packing, and secure transport of all data center equipment — minimizing disruption to your facility and operations.
Secure data destruction
All data-bearing media is destroyed per NIST 800-88 standards — physical shredding or certified wiping. Certificates of Data Destruction available on request.
Asset recovery & resale
Qualifying servers, networking gear, and equipment are remarketed to recover maximum value and offset your decommissioning costs.
Responsible recycling
Non-resalable equipment is processed through our R2V3-certified recycling facility with full downstream documentation.
Final disposition report
A complete audit trail covering every asset — serial numbers, data destruction records, downstream recycling documentation, and resale proceeds.

How it works
Our decommissioning process
- Site assessment & planning
We conduct a site walkthrough to assess the scope of the decommission, catalog equipment, and develop a detailed project plan including timelines, logistics, and data security protocols. - Asset inventory & tagging
Every asset is catalogued by make, model, and serial number before removal begins. Chain-of-custody tracking is established from the moment equipment leaves your facility. - Equipment removal & secure transport
Our trained technicians handle the physical deinstallation and packing of all equipment. Secure transport to our Houston facility with GPS-tracked vehicles. - Data destruction
All data-bearing media is processed per NIST 800-88 — physical shredding or certified wiping. Certificates of Data Destruction available on request. - Asset recovery & recycling
Qualifying equipment is remarketed to recover value. Remaining assets are processed through our R2V3-certified recycling facility. - Final disposition report
You receive a complete audit-ready report covering every asset — destruction certificates, downstream documentation, and resale proceeds if applicable.
